Christine Doran grew up outside Dublin, Ireland, where she spent her time messing about down by the sea, reading books, and wondering what it would be like to have a brother or sister.

Now she lives outside Washington DC in the United States, and spends her time cruelly denying her children a puppy, feeding one noisy demanding cat and one sweet polite cat, and wondering how it's possible to make such a big mess in such a short space of time.
